One robber killed, two arrested injured in police encounter

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Mar, 2026) One robber was killed while two of his accomplices were arrested in injured condition during a police encounter in the area of Ghulam Muhammad Abad police station.

Police spokesman said here on Thursday that Rescue 15 received a call that four robbers had snatched Rs 50,000 from a citizen late night and fled the scene.

Acting promptly, Incharge Achkera Check Post Sub Inspector Tayyab Bilal along with his team rushed to the spot and initiated a chase of the outlaws.

Upon spotting the police party, the criminals opened indiscriminate and direct fire with the intent to kill. The police retaliated in self-defense, leading to an exchange of fire.

Meanwhile, Station House Officer (SHO) Ghulam Muhammad Abad police station Yousaf Shehzad also reached the spot along with additional force after getting informed of the situation.

The outlaws continued firing while moving towards a garbage stand in Mohallah Usman Ghani.

When the firing ceased, three accused were found lying injured due the bullets fired by their own accomplices. However, one of them managed to escape under the cover of darkness.

The police immediately shifted the injured to hospital for medical treatment, but one of them succumbed to his injuries.

The deceased was identified as Ali Ahmad who is a record-holder and involved in 23 criminal cases while the injured accused were identified as Usman and Masood alias Soda and they both were wanted by police in multiple cases.

The police recovered weapons, snatched mobile phones and cash from the possession of the accused while a search operation and blockades have been set up to arrest the escapee.

These accused were also wanted in a recent robbery incident in Ghousia Abad where they had snatched mobile phones and cash from citizens a few days earlier, he added.
