Ongoing work of Walled City Project inspected

BAHAWALPUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th May, 2026) Under the Walled City Project, the installation of street furniture, dustbins, and benches at Farid Gate had been completed.

Commissioner Irfan Ali Kathia, and Deputy Commissioner Syed Hassan Raza inspected the ongoing development and beautification work at Farid Gate. Assistant Commissioner Bahawalpur City Iqra Mubeen and other concerned officials were also present during the visit.

Deputy Commissioner Syed Hassan Raza, while briefing the officials, informed them that under the Walled City Project, the installation of street furniture, dustbins, and benches at Farid Gate had been completed, while other development activities are progressing rapidly. He added that effective measures are being implemented under a comprehensive strategy aimed at restoring and beautifying the historic sites within the city.

While reviewing the progress of the development project, Commissioner Irfan Ali Kathia directed that the Farid Gate development scheme be completed as soon as possible within the stipulated timeframe and according to the highest quality standards so that better facilities can be provided to citizens. He stated that providing residents with a clean, attractive, and well-equipped environment remains the administration’s top priority.

During the visit, the Commissioner directed the concerned departments to expedite the installation of streetlights, laying of paver tiles, rehabilitation of footpaths, and further improvement of the cleanliness system. He instructed officials to accelerate development activities to make Farid Gate more attractive for both residents and tourists and to further highlight the beauty and historical significance of this landmark.
