Open Katcheri at Gomal University witnesses strong student participation

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Apr, 2026) The Gomal University hosted a special open katcheri here on Saturday aimed at directly addressing student concerns.

The session was held under the leadership of Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Muhammad Zafar Iqbal as part of a broader public engagement initiative of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government.

The event was attended by Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Naimatullah Babar, Registrar Zahir Shah Marwat, as well as deans and heads of various departments.

A large number of students participated in the open forum, raising academic, administrative, and other issues directly with the vice chancellor and relevant officials. The students were given ample opportunity to present their complaints, suggestions, and feedback, which they widely appreciated.

Addressing the gathering, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zafar Iqbal reaffirmed the university administration’s commitment to resolving student issues in a timely and effective manner. He assured that all concerns raised would be addressed on a priority basis, with immediate decisions taken where possible.

He added that such open forums were intended to bridge the gap between students and administration, promote transparency, and ensure merit-based practices. Emphasizing student welfare, he noted that timely resolution of issues remains a top priority for the university.

He said that initiatives like open katcheris not only build trust but also foster a positive academic environment, expressing hope that such engagements would be continued on a regular basis.
