Over 1,200 applications processed through e-business portal:

SARGODHA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th Apr, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Hussain Ahmad Raza Chaudhary on Sunday said that the E-Business Portal, launched by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, has emerged as a highly effective tool for public facilitation, enabling citizens to access government services from the comfort of their homes.

Providing details during a briefing,Deputy Commissioner Hussain Ahmad Raza stated that the district administration received 1,695 applications through the portal to date, out of which processing for 1,208 was completed.

He noted that 1,146 applications were approved, while 486 remain under process across various departments.

He explained that 269 applications were currently pending due to incomplete documentation or non-payment of required fees by the applicants.

Regarding specific sectors, he informed that five out of 10 applications for petrol pumps have been approved, while 713 out of 913 building construction applications were processed, leading to 690 approvals.

The Deputy Commissioner further revealed that 140 land-use conversion requests have been sanctioned out of 230, with the remaining cases expected to be finalized within the next five days.

According to the departmental breakdown provided by the DC, the Local Government received 1,126 applications, followed by Agriculture with 172, FSCPD with 115, and Livestock with 95. Other departments including Housing (38), Environment (20), T&MD (12), FWF (46), District Administration (9), and Minerals (21) also received applications through the digital platform. Emphasizing the portal's role in promoting transparency, The DC Hussain Ahmad Chaudhary said the system eliminated the need for citizens to visit government offices and has effectively curbed corruption.

He warned that strict legal action would be taken against any official making illegal demands or contacting applicants directly for unauthorized gains.

He urged the business community of Sargodha to utilize this modern facility to promote their businesses through legal channels.
