Over 142,000 voters ready as Skardu completes preparations for GB Assembly Elections

GILGIT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th Jun, 2026) The stage is set for the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly General Elections in Skardu district where more than 142,000 registered voters are expected to cast their ballots on June 7.

According to official figures released on Saturday, a total of 142,747 voters across the district’s four Constituencies will participate in the electoral process.

With the election campaign period now officially concluded, focus has shifted to polling day arrangements.

The Election Commission and district administration have finalized all necessary preparations to ensure a smooth, transparent, and peaceful voting process. Polling staff, election materials, and security arrangements have been put in place across the district ahead of the vote.

Authorities have expressed confidence that the electoral exercise will be conducted in an orderly manner, enabling voters to freely exercise their democratic right.
