ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st May, 2026) Pakistan’s Sub-National Polio Campaign continued on Thursday in 79 selected districts across the country.
More than 15.97 million children vaccinated during the first four days of the drive, according to the National Emergency Operations Centre (EOC).
The anti-polio campaign, running from 18 to 24 May, aims to vaccinate around 19 million children under the age of five against the crippling disease.
The National EOC said approximately 163,000 polio workers are taking part in the door-to-door campaign to protect children from lifelong disability caused by poliovirus.
According to provincial data, over 4.95 million children have received polio drops in 10 selected districts of Punjab, while more than 5.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, over 3.72 million children have been administered polio drops in 23 selected districts.
In Balochistan, more than 1.51 million children have been vaccinated in 25 districts, while over 405,000 children received polio drops in Islamabad.
The National EOC urged parents to cooperate with polio teams and ensure all children under five years of age receive polio drops during every campaign.
