Over 20,000 Nigehban Cards distributed in three days

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Feb, 2026) More than 20,000 Ramadan Nigehban Cards have been distributed in Lahore over the past

three days as Ramadan Sahulat Bazaars have been made fully operational across the city.

Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali Ejaz visited various Ramadan Sahulat stalls and Nigehban

Card centres to review arrangements and ensure smooth implementation of the relief measures.

Assistant Commissioner Raiwind briefed him on the functioning of the bazaars and the

ongoing distribution of Nigehban Cards.

The deputy commissioner inspected the availability and quality of essential commodities and directed that items be sold at prices at least 10 percent lower than the official market rates. In the Sahulat Bazaars, citizens are being provided a 10kg flour bag at Rs850 and sugar at Rs140 per kilogram. He instructed the Market Committee to ensure uninterrupted supply of goods at wholesale rates, while separate counters for women and senior citizens have been set up to facilitate visitors.

Directions were also issued to maintain cleanliness and proper parking arrangements at all Ramadan market sites.

Emphasizing transparency, the deputy commissioner said the district administration was ensuring fair distribution of Nigehban Cards and that no compromise would be made on the quality of essential commodities during Ramadan.

Meanwhile, DC Lahore visited Raiwind to review progress on development schemes under Phase-II of the Lahore Development Programme, launched in line with the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif. He inspected street, drainage and water supply works in UC 268 (Pajian), directed timely completion of projects and emphasized strict quality control and transparency, with monitoring by NESPAK.
