Over 200 arrested,narcotics recovered last month

SARGODHA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th Apr, 2026) In a major crackdown across the district,police arrested more than 200 suspects and recovered a significant haul of narcotics and illegal weapons during March,officials said on Monday.

The operations were conducted under the directives of District Police Officer Muhammad Sohaib Ashraf to curb crime and maintain law and order in the region,the DPO office said in a statement.

During the anti-narcotics drive,109 individuals involved in drug trafficking were apprehended,leading to the seizure of 10.

270 kilograms of ice (crystal meth),20 kilograms of hashish and 3,000 liters of liquor.

A simultaneous crackdown on illegal arms saw 112 arrests, with police recovering nine Kalashnikovs, six rifles, 22 shotguns, 84 pistols, and over 400 bullets.

DPO Ashraf said that the operations would continue with full intensity to purge the district of criminal elements and ensure the safety of citizens.

Cases have been registered against the accused at various police stations across district as part of ongoing security measures.
