LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th May, 2026) Over 34,000 complaints have been resolved by the 1787 IGP Complaint Centre of Punjab Police during the current year as part of ongoing efforts to ensure effective redress of public grievances.
According to a spokesperson for Punjab Police, the complaint resolution mechanism has been further strengthened to provide timely relief to citizens.
Inspector General of Police Punjab, Abdul Kareem, said that complaints received from citizens were being resolved within the stipulated timeframe in accordance with the prescribed SOPs.
He said that the monitoring system had been made more active to further improve the performance of the 1787 complaint center, adding that district police officers (DPOs) were personally monitoring complaints received through the system to ensure their immediate redressal.
The spokesperson said that notable progress had been achieved in resolving complaints of different categories, including 17,249 complaints related to registration of cases and 8,270 complaints regarding delayed investigations.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>Similarly, 2,547 complaints related to police services and over 7,000 departmental and other complaints were also resolved.
He further said that 1,781 complaints regarding arrest of accused persons, 3,071 related to recovery matters and 1,646 concerning faulty investigations had been disposed of.
As many as 865 complaints regarding cancellation of false cases and 537 complaints related to change of investigation were also resolved, the spokesperson added.
The IGP urged citizens to register complaints against police officials through the 1787 Complaint Center without hesitation, assuring prompt and transparent action on all grievances.
