Over 6,000 Police Personnel deployed for Eid-ul-Fitr security in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Mar, 2026) Police have finalized security and traffic arrangements for Eid-ul-Fitr across the city, Police spokesman said here on Thursday.

More than 6,000 police officers and personnel will perform duty to ensure public safety during the festive days.

Special security measures have been put in place at over 1,400 mosques, imambargahs, and open grounds where Eid congregations will be held.

To maintain smooth traffic flow, over 800 traffic police officers will be deployed across the city.

Special checkpoints have also been established to prevent one-wheeling and other traffic violations.

The police have set up 40 special pickets on Chand Raat and Eid days to curb criminal activities and maintain law and order.

More than 500 officers will be deployed at these pickets, while Elite Force, Dolphin Force, Ladies Police, and Muhafiz Squad will also remain on duty.

Additionally, police mobiles, Dolphin squads, and motorcycle patrolling teams will conduct effective patrolling in different areas of the city.

More than 600 police personnel have been assigned to ensure security at public places, parks, and graveyards.

City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Mehmood Hamdani stated that strict action will be taken against those involved in aerial firing, one-wheeling, and other illegal activities. He emphasized that all available resources are being utilized to ensure foolproof security, adding that protection of citizens’ lives and property remains the top priority.
