Over 6,800 minority citizens facilitated through Meesaq Centers : CCPO

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Apr, 2026) As many as 6,803 minority citizens have been provided various legal services through Meesaq Centers in Lahore

during the current year.

According to a spokesperson for Lahore Police, 435 non-Muslim citizens were issued character certificates, while 4,107 general police verifications were completed through the centers. He added that 47 criminal cases, five missing persons cases, and five cases related to destitute individuals were also registered during the period.

In addition, copies of FIRs were provided to 47 applicants.

Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamyana said Meesaq Centers are playing a key role in protecting the rights of minorities and ensuring timely redressal of their complaints. He termed the centers a practical example of citizen-friendly policing.

He further said that the protection of life, property, and places of worship of all minorities, including the Christian community, is being ensured across the city.
