Over 600 police personnel deployed for Safar procession:

SARGODHA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Jul, 2026) The Sargodha police have finalized comprehensive security arrangements for the procession held on the second Sunday of Safar, deploying more than 600 police officers and personnel to ensure its peaceful conduct.

According to a press release issued by the District Police Officer (DPO) office, security personnel were deployed across the city to perform duties along the procession route and provide protection to participants.

The procession started from the residence of the organizer in Block 11 and proceeded along its traditional route before concluding at the Imambargah in Block 7.

The police said strict security measures were adopted for the safety of mourners, with participants being screened through walk-through gates and metal detectors installed at various entry points.

Special contingents of the Elite Force were also deployed to maintain vigilance and provide additional security cover during the event.

The spokesperson added that traffic police personnel were positioned at important intersections to regulate traffic flow and facilitate commuters.
