Overseas Pakistani’s stolen belongings recovered, rickshaw driver arrested

MUZAFFARGARH, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd Jun, 2026) An overseas Pakistani who had lost his precious belongings upon arrival in the country after three years, got back his stolen property due to efficient response by the police to his complaint.

Acting promptly on the complaint, City Police Muzaffargarh recovered valuable stolen belongings, including electrical appliances and a passport, and arrested the suspect involved in the theft.

Police spokesman said, the complainant had returned to Pakistan after working in Saudi Arabia for three years. He had purchased the electrical items and other valuables from his hard-earned savings.

Upon arrival in Muzaffargarh, the overseas worker was shifting his luggage from a van into a rickshaw when the rickshaw driver sped away the three wheeler while the complainant was away to bring 'Aab-e-Zamzam' to the rickshaw.

He immediately approached City police and a case was registered. Using Safe City surveillance cameras and other techniques, police traced the rickshaw within a short period and arrested the driver. The suspect disclosed the location of the stolen items, leading to the recovery of all the valuables, including the victim’s passport and electrical appliances.

The recovered property was subsequently handed over to its rightful owner.

The overseas Pakistani expressed his gratitude to DPO Syed Ghazanfar Ali Shah and police team for their swift action.
