ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th May, 2026) State Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resources Development Mohammad Awn Saqlain on Thursday informed the National Assembly that children of overseas Pakistanis are already being provided a 50 percent fee concession in designated overseas schools.
Responding to a calling attention notice regarding an increase of Rs3,000 in the tuition fee of Overseas Pakistanis Foundation colleges in Islamabad, he said, “overseas students studying in these institutions are already receiving education at half the fee, while private students are also enrolled in the same schools.”
He added that there are four overseas schools in Islamabad and 27 across Pakistan.
Awn Chaudhry said nearly half of the students in these schools are children of overseas Pakistanis, while the remaining seats are occupied by private students.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>He clarified that the school fee had not been increased by Rs3,000, as stated by a lawmaker, and said it had only been raised by 10 percent over the previous amount.
He added that the recent increase was lower than that of private sector educational institutions.
The minister informed the House that the monthly fee had been increased from Rs13,000 to Rs14,000. However, the annual fund had been abolished to provide relief to parents.
He further said that compared to other educational institutions in Islamabad, where fee structures and additional charges are much higher, the overseas schools continue to offer comparatively affordable education facilities.
