Paharpur AC seals petrol pump over overcharging, short measurement

Dera Ismail Khan, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th Apr, 2026) On the directives of the Deputy Commissioner Dera Ismail Khan, Assistant Commissioner Paharpur Dr. Hamid on Sunday conducted inspections of various petrol pumps in the area to check fuel prices and measurement standards.

During the inspection, irregularities were found at one petrol pump, including short measurement (gauge tampering) and overcharging beyond the officially notified rates. Taking immediate action, the authorities sealed the petrol pump on the spot.

Furthermore, a formal reference has been sent to the Consumer Protection Department to initiate legal proceedings against the owner in accordance with the law.

The district administration has reiterated its commitment to ensuring fair practices and warned that strict action will continue against those involved in overcharging or violating regulations.
