Tensions briefly escalated in South Waziristan’s Angoor Adda Zalo Khel area after an alleged cross-border provocation from the Afghan side but were brought under control following a swift and effective response by Pakistani security forces.

According to security sources the Pakistan Army acted promptly to foil an attempted infiltration and established control over the situation. Officials said the timely action prevented any major losses.

Sources further claimed that after the infiltration bid failed, forces from the Afghan side allegedly targeted civilian areas, leaving three people injured, including two women. The injured were shifted to Wana Hospital for immediate medical treatment.

Authorities said surveillance in the area has been intensified in light of the evolving security situation. Local residents condemned the incident and urged the security forces to take firm and immediate countermeasures.

Security officials maintained that the situation along the border is now under control, adding that additional precautionary steps are being taken to counter any potential threats.
