Pak-China ties opening new era of investment,development:Qaiser Sheikh

FAISALABAD/CHINIOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th May, 2026) Federal Minister for Investment board Qaiser Ahmad Sheikh on Wednesday said the longstanding friendship between Pakistan and China was not merely a diplomatic relationship but a strong foundation of trust,development,investment and shared prosperity.

Talking to media after offering Eid-ul-Azha prayers in Chiniot,the minister said Pakistan-China relations were becoming stronger and more resilient with the passage of time while Pakistan’s diplomatic role at the global level was also expanding.

He said he accompanied Prime Minister(PM),Shehbaz Sharif during a recent four-day visit to China,which proved highly successful in promoting investment,industrial cooperation and economic relations between the two countries.

He added that several agreements,memorandums of understanding and new avenues of cooperation were finalized during the visit.

Qaiser Sheikh said he personally bore all expenses of the China visit,including accommodation,as national interest and investment promotion remained his priority.

He said the visit aimed at expanding investment opportunities and strengthening industrial collaboration between the two countries.

He added that China had always stood by Pakistan in difficult times, calling the relationship exemplary.

Referring to historical ties,the minister said Pakistan-China friendship had deepened over 75 years,adding that both countries had consistently supported each other at international forums.

He said Pakistan was emerging as a potential mediator in regional conflicts while its balanced foreign policy was enhancing its global diplomatic standing.

Highlighting China’s development,he said the country had become a global model of industrial and technological progress, lifting hundreds of millions out of poverty and offering lessons for developing countries.

The minister said China was extending cooperation to Pakistan in IT,industry,education and advanced sciences,adding that recent astronaut training of Pakistani personnel marked a new phase of bilateral cooperation.

Condemning recent terrorist incidents,he said the nation stood united with the armed forces and leadership,vowing that attempts to destabilize the country would be foiled.

Later,he visited a Punjab government “Suthra Punjab” cleanliness camp,praising the initiative and saying improved sanitation arrangements were visible across urban areas during Eid-ul-Azha under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister(CM),Maryam Nawaz Sharif.

He also lauded sanitation workers for continuing duties during the Eid holidays.

After Eid prayers,the minister met citizens,exchanged Eid greetings and later performed animal sacrifice at his dera in Chiniot, where family members,political figures and citizens were present.

The sacrificial meat was distributed among deserving families.
