Pakistan Allied Health Professionals Association discusses paramedics’ issues

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th May, 2026) A meeting of the Provincial Executive Council of the Pakistan Allied Health Professionals Association, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, was held at the provincial office here with active participation from elected representatives of various districts and government hospitals across the province.

Spokesman for the Association on Sunday said the meeting was chaired by Central and Provincial President Habib Khan, while Provincial General Secretary Syed Wajid Ali Shah presented the formal agenda.

Representing District Mardan, President Ubaid Ullah and General Secretary Muhammad Amin expressed their views on the issues faced by paramedics, service structure, promotions and organizational matters.

The participants endorsed the suspensions made over alleged irregularities and embezzlement in the seniority lists of Assistant Paramedics and Deputy Director Paramedics, declaring the action justified.

The meeting emphasized that the process of promotions for paramedics on relevant posts should continue uninterrupted based on merit and transparency so that a system of justice and competence could be strengthened within the Health Department.

The meeting also held a detailed discussion on the problems faced by paramedics in the tribal districts.

It was demanded that posts in tribal districts be upgraded under the 60 percent formula according to the share of paramedics so that employees serving in those areas could also receive equal opportunities and facilities.

Participants welcomed the decision to appoint DSV, TSV and FSV staff through interviews on the basis of merit, calling it a positive step toward transparency and meritocracy. The meeting observed that ensuring merit within the Health Department would not only improve institutional performance but also restore employees’ confidence.

During the meeting, detailed discussions were held regarding various issues faced by allied health professionals, including registration, service structure, promotions and other organizational matters. The leadership reaffirmed its commitment to continue taking all possible measures for the protection of the rights, professional dignity and welfare of allied health professionals across the province.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the election schedule for organizational elections in different units was also approved. Participants described organizational unity and collective struggle as the need of the hour.
