PAKISTAN: Pakistan’s first major international tennis event, the Billie Jean King Cup Group III Asian Qualifying round, is scheduled to take place in October 2026.

Around 10 teams from across Asia are expected to take part in the tournament. This will bring international players to Pakistan and give local fans a chance to watch competitive women’s tennis at home. It also shows growing trust from global sports bodies in Pakistan’s ability to host safe and organized events.

Speaking at a press conference, PTF president Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi said the recent staging of multiple International Tennis Federation (ITF) events had helped project a positive image of Pakistan globally.

“Tennis is helping build Pakistan’s soft image, and hosting a women’s team event in October is a significant milestone,” he said.

PTF Secretary Zia Tufail said hosting consecutive international tournaments has been a major achievement, adding that such events provide valuable exposure and ranking opportunities for Pakistani players.

Meanwhile, players Muzammil, Abid, and Shoaib said their recent performances have boosted their confidence.
