ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st May, 2026) Minister of State for Federal education and Professional Training, Wajiha Qamar on Thursday said the Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor (PBKC) was emerging as a new example of academic connectivity in the region, highlighting rapid progress in educational relations between the two countries within just six months.
She made these remarks while welcoming a Bangladeshi delegation here and expressed Pakistan’s commitment to taking educational cooperation with Bangladesh to new heights.
The minister said the Higher Education Expo organised by Pakistani universities received a warm response in four cities of Bangladesh, reflecting growing academic interest between the two countries.
Highlighting the success of the initiative, she said 20 Pakistani universities participated in the second Higher Education Expo, while more than 1,400 Bangladeshi students applied for 500 fully funded scholarships offered by Pakistan.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>“Seventy-four Bangladeshi students have already arrived in Pakistan and are studying in various universities,” she said, adding that senior Bangladeshi civil servants had also completed executive leadership training in Lahore.
Wajiha Qamar announced the second phase of fully funded scholarships for Bangladeshi students and stressed the need to enhance cooperation in joint research, faculty exchange and digital learning initiatives.
“Universities of both countries can set a new example of educational cooperation in South Asia,” she said.
The minister said people-to-people contacts played a key role in strengthening long-term bilateral relations, adding that friendship between Pakistan and Bangladesh would always remain strong.
