CHINIOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th Jun, 2026) Federal Minister for board of Investment Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh has said that expanding economic cooperation between Pakistan and China is creating fresh opportunities for trade, investment and technological advancement, which will significantly contribute to Pakistan’s industrial and agricultural development in the years ahead. Speaking to the media on Sunday during a visit to a free medical camp organized in collaboration with Anjuman-e-Islamia in Chiniot, he said that Business-to-Business (B2B) meetings arranged in China under the directives of the Prime Minister, with the support of the Board of Investment and the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), had produced highly encouraging outcomes.

The minister said that more than 200 Pakistani representatives from the technology, industrial and agricultural sectors participated in the visit, where they observed China’s cutting-edge industrial and agricultural innovations. He noted that a series of meetings resulted in several memorandums of understanding and agreements on joint ventures across multiple sectors. An important agreement was also reached in the fertilizer sector, paving the way for the introduction of advanced Chinese technology in Pakistan. He added that the enduring Pakistan-China friendship, spanning over 75 years, is entering a new phase of economic collaboration under the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

Highlighting the government’s economic agenda, Qaiser Sheikh said that efforts are underway to attract investment, facilitate business activity and strengthen economic stability. He said the upcoming federal budget would prioritize public relief measures as well as incentives for the business community. Referring to Pakistan’s recent diplomatic engagements, he maintained that the country’s constructive role in promoting peace, stability and dialogue had earned international recognition, with global observers viewing Pakistan’s leadership and diplomatic approach positively. He further emphasized that overseas Pakistanis are eager to invest in the country and that the Board of Investment is pursuing regulatory reforms to create a more investor-friendly environment.

Discussing the free medical camp, the minister said that such initiatives are being organized to bridge healthcare gaps in underserved and rural areas. The camp provided free medical consultations, diagnostic tests, medicines and referrals for specialized treatment where required. He said that prominent doctors from Chiniot voluntarily participated in the initiative, enabling around 500 to 600 patients to benefit from essential healthcare services. Appreciating the efforts of the organizers and medical staff, he described the initiative as a valuable source of support for underprivileged communities and pledged that similar welfare activities would continue in the future.
