Pakistan Day marked with patriotic fervor

MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Mar, 2026) Pakistan Day was celebrated in Multan with great enthusiasm and national spirit as slogans of “Pakistan Zindabad” echoed in the air during a dignified ceremony held at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office.

The central event featured a flag-hoisting ceremony followed by a well-organized parade, where smartly turned-out contingents of police,Rescue 1122 and Civil Defence presented salute to the national flag.

The ceremony was jointly presided over by Commissioner Multan Amir Karim Khan and Regional Police Officer Muhammad Usman Akram Gondal.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Finance Mohsin Nisar, along with other district officials and members of civil society, attended the event in large numbers.

Sirens were sounded during the ceremony, and a one-minute silence was observed to pay tribute to the sacrifices of the nation’s forefathers.

Addressing the participants, Commissioner Amir Karim Khan said, Pakistan Day renews the nation’s commitment to safeguard the integrity and sovereignty of the country.

He emphasized the importance of conveying the message of patriotism and national responsibility to the younger generation.

He further stated that the Lahore Resolution paved the way for a separate homeland for Muslims of the subcontinent, adding that countless sacrifices were rendered by the forefathers to achieve this dream. “March 23 brought a historic message of hope and independence for Muslims,” he remarked, adding that the entire nation is celebrating the day with unity and zeal.

Speaking on the occasion, RPO Muhammad Usman Akram Gondal highlighted the significance of unity, especially in the current regional context. He said the nation stands like a solid wall alongside its armed forces for the defense of the country. “Just as our elders made immense sacrifices for the creation of Pakistan, we too will not hesitate to make any sacrifice for its protection,” he affirmed.

The ceremony concluded with renewed pledges of national unity, solidarity, and commitment to the progress and security of Pakistan.
