Pakistan made an emphatic start to their campaign in the ITF Asia 12 & Under Team Competition – South Asia 2026, defeating Maldives 3-0 in their opening match, the Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) said on Tuesday
ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Apr, 2026) Pakistan made an emphatic start to their campaign in the ITF Asia 12 & Under Team Competition – South Asia 2026, defeating Maldives 3-0 in their opening match, the Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) said on Tuesday.
According to a press release issued by the PTF, the Pakistan boys’ team, placed in Group B alongside Maldives and hosts Nepal, displayed complete dominance in both singles and doubles encounters.
In the singles matches, Muhammad Faizan delivered a flawless performance, overpowering Ahmed Shaahaan 6-0, 6-0, while Muhammad Aayan registered an equally commanding victory against Rayn Mohamed by the same margin.
Pakistan continued their supremacy in the doubles fixture, where the pair of Muhammad Faizan and Muhammad Ibraheem Hussain Gill comfortably defeated Jibril Jabbir and Rayn Mohamed 6-0, 6-1 to seal the tie without conceding a set.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s girls’ team is competing in Group A, which also features Maldives, Nepal, Sri Lanka and India.
The federation said the team’s participation in the regional event is being supported by Honda Atlas Pakistan, whose backing remains instrumental in nurturing young tennis talent in the country.
PTF President, Secretary General and other officials congratulated the team on their impressive victory and expressed confidence in their performance in the upcoming matches.
