Pakistan playing historic role for maintaining global peace: Marriyum Aurangzeb

A resolution was unanimously passed recognizing the historic efforts of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for promoting global peace

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Apr, 2026) A resolution was unanimously passed recognizing the historic efforts of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for promoting global peace.

The resolution was adopted during an important meeting of the parliamentary party of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League (N) in Punjab. The meeting was held at the Punjab Assembly under the chairmanship of Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, according to a press release issued on Thursday.

The senior minister said, “Pakistan is currently playing a historic role in the survival of humanity and the promotion of global peace.”

She added that the world is acknowledging the extraordinary leadership and statesmanship of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir. “These leaders have initiated a global movement for the protection of Pakistan, the Muslim world, and all of humanity,” she said.

Marriyum Aurangzeb stated that Quaid Muhammad Nawaz Sharif made Pakistan a nuclear power, while Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif saved the country from default and strengthened its diplomatic standing.

She further added that history will bear witness that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir played a key role in preventing a third world war.

She said that Pakistan has become a strong symbol of peace, stability and hope in the world, terming it a special blessing of the Allah Almighty.

Praising Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the senior minister said that a record 278 laws had been passed over the past two years, alongside historic legislation and development projects for public welfare. She added that these achievements were the result of the collective efforts of the chief minister’s team.

She said that ensuring respect for women members of parliament was a proud tradition of the PML-N and part of the vision of Quaid Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and the mission of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.

She stated that the chief minister would soon brief the Punjab Assembly on her government’s two-year performance.

She added that significant measures were underway in various sectors, including smog control, health, education, infrastructure development for TEVTA, and maintenance of law and order. Uniform initiatives were being implemented across the province for cleanliness, road construction, model villages, and agricultural development.

The meeting emphasized that, for the first time, every sector and segment of Punjab was receiving equal government attention and progressing toward development.

It was also announced that all employees of the Punjab Assembly would donate two days’ salary to the austerity fund.

The meeting concluded with prayers for the country’s progress, prosperity, and stability.
