LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd May, 2026) Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) President Atif Ikram Sheikh said on Thursday that Pakistan-Qatar Joint Business Council will serve as an effective platform for exploring new investment opportunities and promoting partnerships between the private sectors.
He was sharing his views in the inaugural virtual session of the Council here at FPCCI Regional Office. The session was also addressed by Zaki Aijaz, FPCCI Regional Chairman and Vice President, Mohammed bin Ahmed Al-Obaidly, board Member of Qatar Chamber, and Mehmood Arshad, Chairman of FPCCI Pak-Qatar Business Council.
During the meeting, participants held detailed discussions on bilateral trade, investment, future activities, strategic planning, and various aspects of enhancing mutual business cooperation between Pakistan and Qatar.
On this occasion, Zaki Aijaz said, the Council is an important platform for promoting cooperation between business communities of both the countries. He appreciated the ongoing collaboration between FPCCI and Qatar Chamber, stating that the activation of the Joint Business Council was made possible through this continued cooperation.
Pakistan offers excellent investment opportunities in sectors including agriculture, food security, tourism, logistics, manufacturing, and infrastructure, he said and invited Qatari investors to explore these opportunities and invest in Pakistan.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>In his address, Mohammed bin Ahmed Al-Obaidly said that relations between Qatar and Pakistan are steadily strengthening, supported by high-level visits and agreements across various sectors. He noted that bilateral trade between the two countries reached QR 11.8 billion in 2025, reflecting strong economic ties
He also reaffirmed Qatar Chamber’s commitment to continuing full support for the promotion of trade and investment cooperation. He described Pakistan as an important strategic economic partner, highlighting Pakistan’s dynamic market, skilled workforce, and diverse investment opportunities, while also noting that Qatar’s investment-friendly environment aligns with Qatar National Vision 2030.
FPCCI Pak-Qatar Business Council's Chairman Mehmood Arshad praised the strong economic relations between Pakistan and Qatar. He was of the view that private sector can play a key role in enhancing bilateral cooperation. He vowed, the business council will further strengthen communication between businessmen of both countries and create new opportunities for investment and partnerships, leading to increased trade and mutual economic benefits.
