ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Mar, 2026) Pakistan on Wednesday strongly rejected a recent statement by India regarding Islamabad’s actions against terrorist infrastructure in Afghanistan, terming it “baseless, misleading, and unwarranted.”

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, spokesperson Tahir Andrabi dismissed comments made by India’s Ministry of External Affairs on March 17, asserting that they reflected “blatant hypocrisy and duplicity.”

The spokesperson said India’s remarks came despite what he described as New Delhi’s “active sponsorship of terrorism directed at Pakistan from Afghan soil,” as well as its historical role as a regional spoiler.

He further criticized India’s domestic and foreign policies, alleging that its leadership remained unaccountable while “instrumentalising Islamophobia for domestic electoral gain” and committing rights violations against Muslims. The statement also referred to India’s recent support for what it termed “another occupying power” amid the ongoing conflict in Palestine.

Calling India’s position “preposterous,” the Foreign Office spokesperson said it was ironic for a country accused of undermining the sovereignty and territorial integrity of its neighbours to comment on adherence to international law and the principles of the United Nations Charter.

The spokesperson reiterated Pakistan’s longstanding position on Kashmir, stating that India continues to deny the right to self-determination to the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir in violation of relevant United Nations resolutions.

Pakistan, he said also urged India to refrain from supporting and sponsoring terrorist groups operating from Afghan territory, including those designated under the UN Security Council sanctions regime.

He asserted that India should “cease its misplaced lament” over Pakistan’s ongoing counter-terrorism efforts.
