FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Apr, 2026) Former Opposition Leader Raja Riaz Ahmad Khan Tuesday said that Pakistan’s leadership through proactive and effective diplomacy played a key role in averting a major global conflict even the threat of a third world war and significantly enhanced stature of the country at the international level.

He expressed these views while addressing a large rally held in Faisalabad to acknowledge “historic diplomatic success of Pakistan”. Raja led the rally which started from main gate of University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) and culminated at District Council Chowk. A large number of people belonging to various walks of life including political workers participated in the rally.

The participants chanted slogans in favor of national leadership and carried banners and placards inscribed with Pakistan’s successful diplomatic efforts on the global stage.

Addressing the gathering, Raja Riaz said that at a time when the world was standing on the brink of a major confrontation, Pakistan’s leadership adopted a balanced, timely and wise diplomatic approach that helped reduce tensions. He said that Pakistan’s efforts in easing tensions among the United States of America and Iran, and paving way for a ceasefire had emerged as a major global achievement.

He credited Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar for projecting Pakistan as a responsible and peace-loving state, adding that the international community was acknowledging these efforts.

He said that as a result of this effective diplomacy, Pakistan’s image had improved and its prestige had risen significantly. Such dynamic and successful diplomacy had rarely been witnessed in the past, he added.

Raja Riaz expressed optimism that a formal agreement between the United States of America and Iran could be reached in the coming days, which would open new avenues for lasting peace and stability in the region.

He said that Pakistan’s positive and active role in this sensitive situation would be written in golden words in the history.

He said that the rally aimed at expressing full solidarity with the national leadership and acknowledging their services, which not only elevated Pakistan’s global standing but also contributed to the promotion of peace worldwide.

Member National Assembly (MNA) Barrister Raja Daniyal also addressed the rally and said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir had brought recognition to Pakistan at the international level and upheld the national flag with pride.

People of Faisalabad, along with the entire nation, appreciated these efforts and paid tribute to the leadership, he added.
