Pakistan’s peace diplomacy highlighted at Thal university seminar

BHAKKAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Apr, 2026) A one-day seminar titled “Pakistan’s Diplomatic and Strategic Efforts for Global Peace” brought together leading national and international scholars at Thal University Bhakkar, where experts underscored Pakistan’s growing role in promoting global stability. The event was attended by academics, students, and policymakers, reflecting a strong engagement with contemporary geopolitical issues.

Deputy Commissioner Ahsan Ali Jamali attended as the chief guest, while Vice Chancellor Dr. Saeed Ahmed Buzdar oversaw the seminar held under his patronage. Organized by Director Academics Dr. Iram Jameel, the event featured prominent speakers including Prof. Dr. Zuleikha Alkan (Türkiye), Prof. Dr. Syed Shahid Hussain Bukhari (Bahauddin Zakariya University), Dr. Kabiru Ibrahim (University of Nigeria), Dr. Waqar Ahmed Ansari (Universiti Utara Malaysia), and Dr. Hassan Raza Naqvi (University of Tehran).

Speakers highlighted Pakistan’s diplomatic engagement during the Iran–US tensions, noting that its efforts extended beyond regional concerns and contributed meaningfully to global peace. They described Pakistan’s role as widely appreciated on the international stage, projecting the country as a responsible and peace-oriented actor in world affairs.

Addressing the gathering, Deputy Commissioner Jamali termed the seminar a timely initiative and stressed the need to educate youth on Pakistan’s mediation efforts in global conflicts. Vice Chancellor Dr. Buzdar reiterated the university’s commitment to academic excellence and awareness of global issues, while Dr. Iram Jameel concluded the session by thanking participants and emphasizing the institution’s ongoing efforts to provide modern education and research opportunities, particularly for students from remote areas.
