Pakistan safe, stable destination for investment: trader leader

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th Apr, 2026) “Pakistan is a secure and stable country offering vast investment opportunities,” Sheikh Abdul Waheed, a trader leader, said on Thursday, and urged global and overseas investors to invest with confidence.

Speaking at the national Investment Strategic Partnership Conference (IOEC), he said security and stability were key prerequisites for investment and added that Pakistan had demonstrated its strength and reliability in this regard, according to a news release on Thursday.

He highlighted the country’s large youth population and skilled workforce, stressing the need for their effective utilisation.

He called for promoting manufacturing, achieving self-reliance and attracting foreign investment, and said economic opportunities existed across the country.

Sheikh Abdul Waheed said a significant share of the country’s energy came from renewable sources but required better utilisation, and also emphasised the need to improve the agriculture sector.

He said Pakistan was rich in natural resources and human potential and expressed confidence that investors would find the country a rewarding destination.
