A Pakistani vessel named Shalimar, operated by the Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (PNSC), has reportedly successfully navigated through the Strait of Hormuz and reached open waters, according to sources.

The ship is said to have crossed the strategically significant waterway despite heightened regional maritime tensions and reported restrictions in the surrounding area.

Sources claim that this is among the first Pakistani commercial vessels to pass through the route following recent developments involving increased security and monitoring in the region.

The vessel is reportedly carrying around 80 million liters of crude oil loaded from the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It is expected to arrive in Karachi within the next two days.

Earlier reports suggested that, despite heightened security conditions in the area, vessels from countries including China and Iran had also continued to transit through the Strait of Hormuz.

Authorities have not yet issued an official statement confirming the details of the voyage or the reported conditions of passage.

The Strait of Hormuz remains one of the world’s most critical maritime chokepoints, through which a significant portion of global oil trade flows daily.
