Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL) and Government Graduate College Asghar Mall, Rawalpindi, on Tuesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote literary, educational, and research collaboration between the two institutions
ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Apr, 2026) Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL) and Government Graduate College Asghar Mall, Rawalpindi, on Tuesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote literary, educational, and research collaboration between the two institutions.
The agreement aims to establish a long-term partnership that will create enhanced opportunities for students and faculty in literary engagement, professional training, and the development of creative and academic skills.
Under the MoU, both institutions will jointly organize literary events, seminars, workshops, reading festivals, and writing competitions. Training sessions focusing on creative writing, poetry, prose, literary criticism, and research methodologies will also be arranged to strengthen students’ intellectual and creative capacities.
As part of the collaboration, PAL will consider offering internships and study visits to eligible students of the college. Renowned writers and researchers will also provide mentorship and guidance to support students in their academic and literary pursuits.
The agreement further allows faculty members and students to contribute their literary work to PAL publications, subject to editorial review. In addition, both sides will explore avenues for the exchange of academic resources, research materials, and literary collections to enhance teaching and research standards.
The MoU, based on mutual goodwill, does not entail any legal or financial obligations for either party. It will remain effective for three years and may be extended with mutual consent.
The agreement was signed by Principal Prof. Dr. Tanveer Ahmed Khichi on behalf of Government Graduate College Asghar Mall, Rawalpindi, and Chairperson Dr. Najeeba Arif on behalf of PAL.
The signing ceremony was attended by prominent representatives from both sides. PAL was represented by Muhammad Asim Butt, Akhtar Raza Saleemi, Mir Nawaz Solangi, Dr. Bibi Amina, and Muhammad Sajid, among others, while the college delegation included Shazia Mumtaz, Humaira Asif, Dr. Abdul Rauf, Dr. Zulfiqar, and Professor Muhammad Azam.
