ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd Apr, 2026) Pakistan Academy of Letters and the Iqbal Academy Pakistan, Lahore have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote cooperation in academic, research, literary, and educational fields.

The agreement was signed at the premises of PAL in Islamabad, said a press release.

The MoU was signed by Dr Abdul Rauf Rafiqui on behalf of Iqbal Academy Pakistan and Prof Dr Najeeba Arif on behalf of the PAL.

Under the MoU, both institutions will strengthen institutional linkages and promote non-commercial cooperation in research and education. The collaboration aims to introduce Iqbal’s thought more effectively at national and international levels and to create new opportunities for academic communities.

According to the agreement, the two organizations will launch joint research projects on Iqbaliyat and other areas of mutual interest.

They will also facilitate the exchange of literary, academic, and technical materials, including books, documents, and reference resources.

The MoU further provides for the joint organization of seminars, conferences, academic forums, roundtable discussions, training sessions, and internships. Both institutions will also undertake initiatives to promote faculty and student training, academic engagement, and linkages with universities and research organizations.

The agreement is expected to strengthen institutional collaboration and give a new impetus to literature, research, Iqbaliyat, national thought, and academic dialogue. It will also create opportunities for teachers, students, researchers, writers, intellectuals, and scholars associated with Iqbaliyat.

Among others present on the occasion included Dr Bibi Amina, Raja Javed, Muhammad Sajid, Yousaf Khan, and Irum Fatima.
