PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th Apr, 2026) A two-day training workshop for parliamentary reporters on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly reporting concluded at the Speaker’s House in Nathiagali, aimed at enhancing professional skills and promoting effective legislative coverage.
The training was conducted in two sessions, with senior journalist Lehaz Ali and Assistant Secretary KP Assembly Saifullah Khan serving as trainers. President Press Gallery Gulzar Muhammad and General Secretary Rasool Dawar supervised the workshop.
The trainers emphasized the importance of digital reporting, urging participants to adopt modern tools and techniques to improve accuracy, speed, and outreach in parliamentary journalism. They also highlighted the need for reporters to actively attend Standing Committees meetings for comprehensive legislative reporting.
During the sessions, Saifullah briefed participants on the history, procedures, and Rules of business of the KP Assembly, providing insights into legislative processes and reporting standards.
He said that this was the second such workshop and assured that more training sessions would be held in the future to equip new reporters with essential skills.
The participants expressed gratitude to Speaker KP Assembly Babar Saleem Swati and Secretary KP Assembly Syed Wiqar Shah for facilitating the training opportunity.
At the conclusion of the workshop, shields were distributed among the participants in recognition of their participation.
