Parliamentary Secretary for Environment Protection and Climate Change Madam Kanwal Liaquat visited Faisalabad to review environmental initiatives and strengthen inter-departmental coordination by holding meetings and inspecting enforcement measures and industrial compliance

FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Apr, 2026) Parliamentary Secretary for Environment Protection and Climate Change Madam Kanwal Liaquat visited Faisalabad to review environmental initiatives and strengthen inter-departmental coordination by holding meetings and inspecting enforcement measures and industrial compliance.

During visit, she met Divisional Commissioner Madam Musarrat Jabeen at her office and discussed regional environmental targets and strategies to improve implementation of environmental policies.

The parliamentary secretary also inspected enforcement of the ban on plastic bags at Gol Chiniot Bazaar, reviewing compliance by traders and stressing strict adherence to environmental regulations.

She participated in a tree plantation campaign near Titanic Restaurant on Samundri Road Bypass to promote afforestation and highlight the importance of increasing forest cover.

Madam Kanwal Liaquat also inspected operations at Punjab Beverages Company Private Limited (PEPSI) on Samundri Road, reviewing environmental compliance measures.

She later visited Sargodha Fabrics Private Limited on Sargodha Road to assess industrial practices and environmental standards.

Speaking on the occasion, she said that purpose of the visit was to promote strategic planning, raise public awareness and ensure effective industrial compliance with environmental laws.

Deputy Director Environment Protection Usman Azhar and others were also present during this visit.
