Patwari held red-handed accepting bribe in Multan

MULTAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Jun, 2026) The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Punjab has intensified its campaign against corruption

and arrested a patwari of revenue department for accepting a bribe from a citizen.

According to an official press release issued on Tuesday, the operation was conducted under the directives of Director General Anti-Corruption Punjab, Sohail Zafar Chattha, as part of the Punjab government's zero-tolerance policy against corruption.

Acting under the supervision of Regional Director Anti-Corruption Multan Basharat Nabi, a team led by Assistant Director Investigation Zaheer Ahmed, along with Reader Muhammad Iqbal and Moharrar Mehboob Ahmed, carried out a trap raid and apprehended Patwari Intizar Ali Gohar of Mouza Inayatpur while receiving Rs20,000 from a citizen for correcting water charges (Aabiana) record.

Officials said the marked Currency notes were recovered from him.

Speaking on the occasion, Regional Director Basharat Nabi, said that the strict implementation of the government's zero-tolerance policy would continue.

“There is no room for corrupt elements in the Multan division. Public servants must perform their duties honestly and responsibly, otherwise they will face legal action,” he said.

He further emphasized that the Anti-Corruption Establishment Punjab remained committed to the prompt redressal of public complaints and the eradication of corruption.
