Peace Committee meets in Attock; unity in Ramazan urged, foolproof security plan finalised

ATTOCK, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Feb, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Rao Atif Raza has underscored that unity and harmony form the fundamental pillars of islam, asserting that adherence to these principles can ensure a stable and prosperous society. He made these remarks on Tuesday while presiding over a meeting of the District Peace Committee at the DC Office in Attock, convened to review preparations for the holy month of Ramazan. The session, moreover, focused on strengthening coordination among stakeholders to maintain a peaceful environment.

The meeting was attended by District Police Officer Sardar Mavharan Khan, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Aneel Saeed, senior district officers and prominent members of the Peace Committee, including Allama Arif Hussain Wahidi, Aftab Haidari, Syed Waqar Naqvi, Maulana Mahmood-ul-Hasan Tauhidi, Maulana Sher Zaman and Maulana Abdullah. During the comprehensive discussion, participants reviewed security arrangements and emphasised proactive collaboration; consequently, a coordinated strategy was agreed upon.

Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Commissioner urged the nation to demonstrate complete unity and a profound spirit of sacrifice during Ramazan, as taught by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

He stated that the sacred month teaches patience, tolerance and perseverance; therefore, citizens must diligently promote inter-sect harmony and mutual respect. “Attock has always remained a cradle of peace,” he said confidently, adding that disputes should invariably be resolved through dialogue and consultation.

Meanwhile, DPO Sardar Mavharan Khan assured that Attock Police would provide foolproof security for all religious activities throughout Ramazan. He confirmed that a special and comprehensive security plan has been meticulously finalised in coordination with the district administration and will be effectively implemented. The Deputy Commissioner, however, warned that elements attempting to create mischief would be dealt with strictly under the law. The meeting concluded with renewed pledges of cooperation from committee members and special prayers for lasting peace and stability in Pakistan.
