Peace conference held

SIALKOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Jun, 2026) On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Saba Asghar Ali, the district administration organised a Ulema Peace Conference at Jinnah Hall to promote peace, religious harmony and inter-sect in Muharram-ul-Haram.

Assistant Commissioner Sialkot Rana Safdar Shabbir chaired the conference.

According to a spokesperson for the Deputy Commissioner's Office, the conference was attended by police officers, District Peace Committee representatives, religious scholars from different schools of thought and officials of relevant departments to discuss measures for ensuring peaceful observance of Muharram.

Addressing the participants, the assistant commissioner said Muharram teaches patience, sacrifice and tolerance, adding that all necessary arrangements were being finalised for processions.
