People celebrate Eidul Azha in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th May, 2026) The people of Hyderabad celebrated Eidul Azha like other parts of the country here on Wednesday by offering sacrifices of the sacrificial animals after the Eid al-Adha prayer.

The Eid namaz was offered at more than 1,200 mosques, Eidgahs and Imambargahs.

The district police spokesman informed that around 2,000 cops were deployed for security of the Eid congregations.

The large congregations took place at around 115 Eidgahs, mosques and Imambargahs with the largest of all congregations to be organized at Eidgah behind Rani Bagh in Qasimabad.The spokesman said police pickets were set up near the animal markets to provide security to the traders as well as to the buyers of animals.

He added that the police were also deployed at the recreational places in addition to the sacrificial animal markets.The Senior Sindh Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon offered Eid Namaz at the Rawal House.

Talking to the media on the occasion he extended Eid greetings to all Muslims Ummah and to Pakistanis in particular.

He prayed for the people of Ghaza, martyrs of Pakistan's armed forces and those of his political party.

The spokesman told that DSPs and SHOs were deployed at 23 important places to head the security arrangements.

According to him, the deployment was ensured at every single place of worship for the Eid congregations.

Meanwhile, the staff of Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (HMC) and the contractor of Sindh Solid Waste Management board (SSWMB) remained engaged in collecting and disposing of the animal offals.

The two organizations have also provided contact numbers to the citizens to lodge their complaints pertaining to the disposal.

The exercise of collecting offals started in the morning and continued through the day.
