People start returning to hometowns for Eid celebrations

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Mar, 2026) Preparations have begun for the return of people living in Lahore to their native areas to celebrate Eidul Fitr.

Travel bookings are underway in trains and buses to spend time with loved ones on the occasion of Eid.

According to railway official sources, more than 90 percent of the seats in trains going to different cities from Lahore have already been booked.

Most of the passengers have booked tickets online, which has facilitated travel in trains, they said.

According to sources, more than 90 percent of the seats in all classes of trains have been booked from March 17 to 24.

However, due to shortage of coaches, the final decision to run additional special trains on Eid has not been taken yet.

Despite this, in view of the rush, a summary of running five special trains on the occasion of Eid has been sent to the concerned authorities so that necessary steps can be taken in time.

Railway officials say that additional arrangements will be made for passengers during Eid days and steps are being taken to maintain the availability of tickets and quality of service.
