PESCO disconnects 22 illegal power connections in Dera anti-theft operation

Dera Ismail Khan, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th Jul, 2026) The Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO)on Monday carried out a major operation against electricity theft in Basti Lakhra Himmat, falling under the 11KV Mandhran Feeder of Mandhran Sub-Division, Rural Division, Dera Ismail Khan, disconnecting dozens of illegal power connections and removing unauthorized electricity infrastructure.

According to details, the operation was conducted under the supervision of Superintending Engineer Hizbullah Khan, Executive Engineer (XEN) Rural Maaz Ahmad, Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) Mandhran RA Irfan, along with PESCO field staff.

During the operation, the authorities disconnected 22 illegal electricity connections, removed two 50-kVA transformers, and dismantled 24 low-tension (LT) spans and three high-tension (HT) spans installed in violation of electricity regulations.

PESCO reiterated its commitment to continuing operations against electricity theft and recovery of outstanding dues to ensure uninterrupted and lawful power supply across the region.

The pesco officials urged consumers to avoid illegal use of electricity, clear their outstanding bills on time, and cooperate with company in its efforts to curb power theft and improve the electricity distribution system.
