ABBOTTABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Apr, 2026) The Abbottabad Bench of the Peshawar High Court (PHC) Tuesday has issued a restraining order, stopping the sale, auction, demolition, or any kind of alteration to one of the city’s oldest, most central, and culturally significant buildings.

In its order, the court directed the concerned authorities to maintain status quo until further orders, effectively halting all activities related to the property. The decision comes amid growing concerns over the preservation of the building, which is considered an important part of Abbottabad’s historical and cultural heritage.

The court also issued notices to the relevant authorities, seeking a detailed response regarding the issuance of an auction notice and any attempts to demolish or modify the structure. The bench raised concerns over actions taken without considering the heritage value of the building.

The case was pursued by Advocate Muhammad Ishaq Zakria, who argued for the protection of the historic site.

The court’s intervention is being seen as a significant step toward preserving architectural and cultural legacy. Further proceedings are expected after the authorities submit their responses.
