BAHAWALPUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd Apr, 2026) Petrol started to leak on the National Highway causing threat to routine traffic when an oil tanker carrying 5,000 liters petrol was hit by another vehicle in the district.
According to Rescue 1122, their control room received a phone call reporting that at Adda Ahmadpur, Khairpur Tamewali, a harvester machine vehicle and a mini oil tanker collided. “Oil was leaking from the tanker,” adding that the control room immediately dispatched one ambulance and fire tenders from Khairpur and Hasilpur.
They further said that upon reaching the location, the staff observed that the harvester machine vehicle had struck the mini oil tanker (which was carrying 5,000 liters of petrol). As a result, the tanker overturned and oil began leaking out.
The rescuers cordoned off the area and, as a precautionary measure, disconnected the tanker’s batteries. A crane was used to upright the oil tanker. No loss of life was reported.
