Notification says similarly, price of high-speed diesel (HSD) has been raised by Rs7.32 per litre
ISLAMABAD: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-Feb 16th, 2026) The Federal government on Sunday night increased the prices of petroleum products for the next fortnight, raising the rates of petrol and high-speed diesel ahead of Ramazan.
The price of petrol was increased by Rs5 per litre, taking the new rate to Rs258.17 per litre from the previous Rs253.17 per litre.
Similarly, the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) was raised by Rs7.32 per litre.
Following the hike, the diesel would now be available at Rs275.
70 per litre, compared to the earlier rate of Rs268.38 per litre.
A notification issued by the Petroleum Division said that the prices were revised on the recommendations of the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) and would remain effective for the next 15 days.
The latest increase is expected to impact transportation costs and prices of essential commodities, as petroleum products play a key role in the country’s overall inflationary trend.
