GUJRAT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th May, 2026) Punjab Food Authority (PFA) conducted 221 inspections across
the district during an ongoing drive to check food safety and quality.
According to officials, 110 improvement notices were issued for
violations, while fines totaling Rs195,000 were imposed on 20 food
businesses.
During the drive, 20 food samples were collected for laboratory analysis.
In addition, 3.59 kilograms of expired and prohibited food items and 10 litres
of used oil were disposed of.
The authority reiterated that operations would continue without interruption
to ensure the provision of safe and quality food to the public, and strict legal
action would be taken against violators.
