PFA cracks down on food outlets,fines Rs.55,000

GUJRAT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th Apr, 2026) The Punjab Food Authority (PFA),led by Deputy Director(DD) Rizwan Saeed on Wednesday carried out a district campaign to ensure food safety and quality,officials said.

During the inspections,77 food outlets were checked.

Authorities issued 27 improvement notices,fined five outlets Rs.55,000 and collected three food samples for testing. Additionally,11.3 kilograms of expired food were destroyed on the spot.

PFA officials warned that such operations would continue and strict action would be taken against violators to safeguard public health.
