PFA discards over 22 maunds dead chicken, adulterated Khoya in Multan, Khanewal

MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Apr, 2026) The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) officials carried out large-scale operations against food safety violations in Multan and Khanewal.

In Khanewal’s Makhdoompur area, a raid on an illegal meat processing unit led to the recovery of over 22 maunds of dead chickens. The operation, conducted under the supervision of Additional Director Operations Aamir Iftikhar, revealed that the poultry had been stored in highly unhygienic conditions and was intended for supply to local hotels and fast-food outlets. The seized meat was destroyed on the spot, and a case was registered against those involved under food safety laws.

In a separate raid in Multan, officials inspected a khoya production unit located at Chungi No. 11 on Makhdoom Rasheed road. During the test it confirmed the presence of prohibited and artificial ingredients in the khoya. More than 5 maunds of adulterated product were discarded.

The Director General PFA reiterated that under the “Healthy Punjab” vision, strict enforcement actions will continue to ensure the provision of safe and quality food to the public. He warned that no leniency would be shown to those endangering public health.
