GUJRAT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Mar, 2026) Special food safety operations continued during the days of Eid-ul-Fitr in Gujrat
on the directions of Deputy Director Punjab Food Authority (PFA)
Rizwan Saeed.
According to a PFA spokesperson, 140 food outlets were inspected during the campaign.
Improvement notices were issued to 75 outlets, while nine units were fined for violating
hygiene and safety regulations. The total fines amounted to Rs156,000.
During the operations, 24.07 kilograms of expired and substandard food items were
confiscated and destroyed.
Deputy Director Rizwan Saeed said provision of safe and quality food to the public was
the top priority, adding that strict action against violators would continue without
discrimination.
