SIALKOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Jun, 2026) The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) sealed eight food points and production units and imposed fines of Rs.1.12 million on 75 businesses during a district-wide enforcement drive, officials said on Thursday.
According to a PFA spokesperson,the operation was carried out on the directives of Director General Syed Musa Raza.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>During the crackdown,inspection teams also disposed of over three maunds of adulterated milk and a large quantity of expired and banned food ingredients.
Officials said expired products were found stored alongside fresh stock while several units were operating in unhygienic conditions with rusted machinery,broken floors and missing traceability records and other mandatory documents.
The spokesperson said action against the sale of substandard and expired food items would continue to ensure the provision of safe and quality food to consumers across the district.
