LAYYAH, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Mar, 2026) The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) seized 100 kilograms of adulterated khoya from a unit in Chak No. 430 TDA, Layyah, and destroyed it to prevent public health risks.
According to a PFA spokesperson, a case has been registered against the unit owner, and production has been suspended pending further investigation.
The action followed lab reports confirming the hazardous and substandard quality of the product.
The spokesperson added that the food business operator failed to present valid medical and training certificates for the workers, violating food safety regulations.
Punjab Food Authority Director General stated that the crackdown is part of ongoing efforts to eliminate fraudulent and unhygienic food practices, warning that strict action will continue against those engaged in such illegal operations.
