PFA seizes 500kg dead chicken in Khushab crackdown

SARGODHA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Apr, 2026) The Punjab food Authority (PFA) on Wednesday carried out a major operation in Khushab, seizing a vehicle loaded with 500 kilograms of dead chickens during a roadside check on Mianwali Road.

According to the PFA spokesperson here, the action was conducted by setting up a checkpoint, where officials intercepted the vehicle transporting the chicken.

The action was part of an ongoing province-wide crackdown against the sale and distribution of dead and unhealthy poultry.

An FIR has been registered against the suspects on the complaint of the Food Authority.

Police also took the vehicle into custody and arrested one individual at the scene.

A veterinary doctor examined the seized chickens and confirmed their condition following a detailed inspection.

Officials stated that strict action is being taken across the province to curb the illegal trade of dead and diseased poultry to safeguard public health.
